Embark on a four-day artistic odyssey with Mystical Masks, a workshop that transforms the versatile medium of Modeling Glass into breathtaking works of art. Led by the accomplished artist Lois Manno, this course invites you to delve into the realm of glass sculpting, where your imagination becomes tangible reality.

Unleashing Creativity with Modeling Glass:

Modeling Glass, a fusion of glass powders and a special binder, offers a clay-like texture that opens up a world of sculptural possibilities. In this workshop, you'll learn to mix, mold, and sculpt this unique material, creating vibrant colors and intricate designs. As you shape your visions into glass, the binders and medium evaporate in the kiln, revealing your stunning, fused glass art piece.

Inspiration from the Sonoran Desert:

Your muse for this journey is the mesmerizing Sonoran Desert landscape. Through Lois Manno's expert guidance, you'll harness the colors and contours of the desert to craft unique, hand-sculpted compositions. Forget about molds or freeze-and-fuse techniques – here, every creation is as unique as the artist behind it.

The Art of Glass Masks:

The pinnacle of this workshop is assembling your desert-inspired components onto a pre-cut glass mask blank. After firing, these pieces are transformed, slumping elegantly over a mask draping form designed by Lois herself. This process not only teaches you the technical aspects of glass art but also immerses you in the magic of transformation.

Beyond the Mask:

Lois will demonstrate two innovative methods to mount these masks, adding versatility to your display options. Additionally, you'll explore creating masks entirely from Modeling Glass, pushing the boundaries of glass art even further.

Learning Through Engagement:

Prepare for an inspiring image show of Lois’ work and a table full of fired samples. These tangible examples of Modeling Glass art will spark your creativity and fuel a lively Q&A session. Lois will share insights into her creative process, offering a behind-the-scenes look at her artistic journey.

Discover Endless Possibilities:

Mystical Masks is more than a class; it's a gateway to endless possibilities with Modeling Glass. Whether you're an experienced artist or a curious beginner, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore, create, and transform your ideas into exquisite glass art.
